To embrace reality and its clarity can never be a negative thing, no matter how incongruous it is with what you want to be true.

Better a harsh and unpleasant truth than a continued lingering in paralyzing delusion. At the very least, movement is restored.

It is not possible to become great, i.e. to evolve to higher levels of awareness, power, and organization of abilities and resources, without possessing qualities that are dangerous in the sense that they can isolate oneself, and possibly lead to madness if one is not strong enough to control and integrate them. One cannot become great without facing challenges the nature of which can crush and destroy lesser men.
